ABOUT

We don't sell art.
We steward legacy.

JMMTHOMPSON ART exists at the intersection of culture and craft — a gallery born from the conviction that Black fine art deserves more than a marketplace. It deserves a space that feels like home. Your wall. Your office. The room where memories gather.

Every piece in this collection carries the weight of story, the texture of lived experience, and the luminance of a people whose beauty has always been their resistance. From archival-grade prints to singular originals, each work is chosen to endure — on your wall and in the collective memory.

"Art is the evidence we were here."

THE ARTIST

JMMTHOMPSON ART

Jacqueline MM Thompson

PAINTER · STEWARD · FOUNDER OF JMMTHOMPSON ART

We make art rooted in a deep and enduring love for Black people — our spirit, our resilience, the emotional resonance that runs through everything we do. Our aim is to make that beauty, strength, and complexity visible.

Through painting and drawing, we explore intimate, personal exchanges through contemporary abstract portraiture, using expressive color as a central language. Influenced by contemporary Black artists and ancestral creators alike, our work embraces exaggerated, boldly simplified, or distorted forms alongside near-realism. These visual strategies let us speak directly to the viewer — without pretense, without apology.

Viewers are free to bring their own lens — but our intentions are unmistakable. Each piece is a declaration: We are here. We are enough, just as we are. We matter.

THE VISION — JMMTHOMPSON ART

JMMTHOMPSON ART is the studio home of everything we make — a sanctuary for Black fine art that refuses to whisper. It is a place where the work is preserved with the reverence of a museum and offered with the warmth of a living room. Our vision is simple: that the people who have always been the subject of art become its stewards, its collectors, its keepers. That the wall becomes a place of inheritance.

"We paint so that we remember ourselves. We paint so we are remembered."
